As part of living history the pupils were introduced to Alan Litchfield, a 97 year old former Royal Marine and D Day veteran. It was gratifying that Budehaven school were represented by Royal British Legion House and their teachers, all were a credit to the school. There were seven veterans of the conflict on parade, from the Royal Navy - Parachute Regiment - Royal Air Force & Royal Fleet Auxiliary. The playing of the Last Post and Reveille by Bude Town Band stalwart David Inch. Wreaths were laid by representatives of all the forces involved and Bude & Stratton Town Council.
